What you will do

Day 1 of this tour is an arrivals day, which gives you a chance to settle into your hotel and explore Kingston, Mandeville or Montego Bay,based on the starting point. The only planned activity for this day is an evening welcome meeting at 7pm, where you can get to know your guides and fellow travellers. Please be aware that the meeting point is subject to change until your final documents are released.

This tour takes you from the hotel in Kingston to two of our communities on our way downtown. We will share with you some samplings of Jamaican food, fruits & drinks. As we travel we will stop to tour some sites on our way-including the Roman Catholic Cathedral and the National Gallery.
After tasting road side-food we go to The Oasis on the Oxford restaurant for a traditional Jamaican meal, before returning to your hotel.

This Walkbout Walking tour will take you into the Blue Mountains(inscribed on the UNESCO’s World Heritage Site List for the outstanding universal value of its cultural & natural heritage). In the Blue & John Crown Mountains are 800 species of endemic plants,134 species of butterfly, 20 being endemic to Jamaica, 200 species of resident & migrant birds.

Guests will also travel with guide into the mountains, at New Castle, a tour of some sections of the property is done. After which the group travels to the Holywell Park for a short tour.The Oatley Trail will take you up to the adjoining parish before returning to base.

NB: Short shorts not recommended-may get scratched by plants.
Walking shoes recommended, the temperature is usually much lower than in Kingston.

Guests will be picked up at their hotel(or meeting place) in Kingston and travel by bus into the parish of St.Mary(Rafter’s Rest). Here you will prepare to go rafting on the Rio Grande (2 persons on a bamboo raft, conducted by a raft captain), at the end on the journey we stop for lunch, which is cooked by the river-side(the old time Jamaican way-on a wood-fire). After lunch & relaxation, it is time to board the raft for the return journey. At Rafter’s Rest the group is invited to do some light fishing, on the river bank, before the return journey to Kingston.

From your hotel you will travel with the tour guide into the Parish of St Elizabeth, to experience a trip on the Black River(Black River because of the dark colour the water reflects caused by thick layers of decomposing vegetation on the river bed).
The experience here also includes enjoying the birds on the river and the crocodiles.
After lunch the group travels to the YS Falls, travelling by jitney to the falls from the office(parking area). There are 7 waterfalls, some cascade into natural pools. Lifeguards will indicate which areas are suitable for swimming.
After a full day of fun it is time to return to Kingston.

From your hotel you will travel with the tour guide into the Parish of Manchester to Gutts River. This river is a mostly underground river, which springs forth in a deep clear pool barely 200m from the sea. It has a naturally fresh water bathing/diving pool.

There is also a beach for those who are interested. Lunch will be at Little Ochie, a seafood restaurant known for its fresh catch and taste (on a beach).

Your tour will conclude in Kingston, Mandeville or Montego Bay, based on the starting point, on Day 7 of the trip. There are no activities planned for this day so you're free to depart at any time. We highly recommend booking post-accommodation to give yourself time to fully experience the wonders of this great "rock"!
